This year's guest speakers are:

Dr. Georges C. Benjamin is the executive director of the American Public Health Association and former Maryland Secretary of Health. A leader in health policy, he is board-certified in internal medicine and a member of the National Academy of Medicine. Dr. Benjamin serves on numerous nonprofit boards, advancing public health and infrastructure security across the nation.

Dr. Mwalui holds a Doctoral Degree in Public Health Research from Walden University, a Postgraduate Certification in Applied Behavior Analysis with a concentration in chronic disease management from Purdue University Global, a Master's degree in Public Health from Walden University, a Bachelor's Degree in Health Systems Management from the University of Baltimore, and two Associate Degrees from Howard Community College in Applied Sciences and Cardiovascular Technology for Invasive Procedures
Dr. Anita Mwalui is an experienced public health practitioner with over 15 years of expertise in community health research, program implementation, and health equity advocacy. With a strong foundation in epidemiology, behavioral health science, and participatory research methods, Dr. Mwalui has designed and led numerous initiatives focused on addressing social determinants of health (SDOH), improving health outcomes for underserved populations, and reducing health disparities through evidence-based interventions.
Dr. Mwalui 's work spans across chronic disease prevention, maternal and child health, mental and behavioral health, with a proven track record of securing and managing public and private grant funding. She brings a systems-thinking approach to public health challenges, ensuring alignment between research, practice, and policy while prioritizing sustainability and workforce capacity building; serving as the CEO and Executive Director of Community Engagement & Consultation Group Inc., overseeing various community health initiatives, Dr. Mwalui emphasizes the importance of culturally appropriate strategies in education, where multicultural understanding influences her work.
